My dad died from a brain tumour on his brain stem which couldn’t be fully removed and eventually spread around the brain stem damaging major nerves causing further complications and eventually it killed him. Just if it was found earlier rather than in his 60’s and if there were more advances in technology and skill based brain surgery perhaps he’d still be here to see his grandchildren

More research needed. Brain tumours have affected people in my family and friends families as well as parents of the children I support. It's heartbreaking especially to see young people under 30 living with poor quality of life and pain

Brain tumour research, especially for so called 'benign' tumours, is still so far off giving even the experts a full understanding of the causes and effective treatments. Patients, especially kids, do not get the treatment experience they deserve, compared with other illnesses. I say this despite having the very best possible surgeon we could have hoped for, who has done the very best with what science has given us on tumours at this point.

My Nan died of a brain tumour in her mid 50s over 50 years ago and it appears knowledge hasn’t really advanced much. It’s about time it did.

I feel more research and money must be dedicated to this field, as it appears to be rather neglected area compared to other related areas.

My friend discovered she had a brain tumor when her second child was only 6 months old. She lives everyday worrying that it will start to grow again. She is terrified because she will probably not get to watch her beautiful boys grow up and become men. She will not get to watch them get married and raise a family of their own. As a parent this would be the worst and most devastating thought in the world but she fights on and is strong, kind and caring to others and making the most of the time she has with her family and cherishing every moment as she knows the next treatment may not be successful.
