The 24th Annual Meeting of the Society for NeuroOncology (SNO ) held in Phoenix, Arizona drew to a close on Sunday.

SNO is dedicated to advancing multi-disciplinary research into brain tumours, education and collaboration to drive discovery and improve patient care and this year’s conference theme was innovation to overcome tumour resistance.

Amongst attendees, and pictured here, were the Principal Investigators at two of our dedicated Research Centres, Professor Silvia Marino (from QMUL) and Professor Oliver Hanemann (from the University of Plymouth).

Prof Marino told us: “Attending scientific meetings such as SNO is essential to share ideas and discuss novel findings. You can meet new researchers working in the field, find new collaborators and also catch up with colleagues in an informal environment.” 

Among the topics discussed was low-grade tumours and meningiomas which is an area of focus for Prof Hanemann and his team at our Centre in Plymouth.
