National brain tumour research funding needs to increase to £30-35 million a year

Clinical trials and how to find them

Clinical trials are vital in proving the effectiveness of new tests and treatments and help to ensure research work taking place in the laboratory reaches patients in clinic.

With no guarantees that an experimental treatment will prove to be of benefit, clinical trials are part of the research process and, for brain tumour patients, the option to join a trial can be an avenue of hope as well as the chance to be at the forefront of creating new levels of understanding about brain tumours.

Trials are carefully designed to meet a wide range of criteria and considerations, based on the previous years of research findings. Strict controls are placed on eligibility for trials in order to ensure the very best chance of providing meaningful results
